Born April 1, 1973, Claudia Lira studied at Holland's TSU - Vakschool Schoonhoven school. She has worked in jewellery and silver since 1992. Her work is an expression of art and design. She is motivated to bring new forms and creations to Peru's silver industry and  has taught her trade since 1992 when she assisted in a Netherlands workshop. Today she teaches in her home city of Lima.

Lira playfully combines 950 silver, gemstones, and occasionally 18k gold striving to transmit freshness and joviality, daring to express her feelings.  Her greatest challenges are to adapt her work to a global market while maintaining her own workshop and boutique in Lima.

"Original, handcrafted work has its own special enchantment," she says. "In my case, my work results from a fusion of influences from two continents – the Americas and Europe." Lira's unique creations have appeared on fashion runways in Peru and throught Europe.
